Mobile phones!

Pros and Cons of Mobile Phones
Technology has changed a lot during the years. Cell phones have taken over the world. There is no need to have a landline or a computer anymore. Why bother? You can have a cell phone with all of that on it! Phones like the iPhone, Blackberry and Droid are just a few examples of these phones. They come with internet, apps, games, text messaging and many other things! These phones are fun and convenient but they also have negative impacts on your life too.
There are many pros about mobile phones. For example, they make life a lot easier. You are connected to people in a quicker and more efficient way. Text messaging allows constant conversation wherever you are. If you need to send a quick thought to someone, a text is an easy way to go. Another huge reason on why cell phones are so important and beneficial in your life is it’s easy to contact people. If your car stalls on the side of the road, you can call a tow or a family member to help you out. There have been multiple stories on how cell phones have saved someone’s life. It is also useful for times when you don’t have a camera handy. Most phones come with a camera. Some phones have GPS on them. If you’re lost, you can find your way by just clicking a button. Even though cell phones make life a lot simpler, they have some negative qualities as well.
Negative things are easy to spot in a mobile phone too. The obvious one is texting while driving. When you’re driving, you need to have your attention on the road 24/7. You can’t take your eyes off the road. If you get a text message while driving, it’s almost impossible to resist looking at it. A lot of people take the bait and look at the text. Some even text back. 25% of all car accidents in the United States are caused by texting and driving. Also, 13% of teenagers have admitted that have texted and drove at one point. Another way cell phones are bad for you is that you can lose sight of reality. If you’re so caught up in your phone, you might not go out as much as you would if you didn’t have a phone. So many people are dependent on their phone, especially teenagers. It’s almost impossible to find a teenager without a cell phone now. Between the games, the apps, the text messaging and everything else available on mobile phones.,. it’s easy to become anti-social. So many teenagers become so addicted to their phones that they might actually stop caring about homework, family and other things that were once important to them. It is also a distraction in classes. So many teenagers text during class and that distracts them from their learning. So you see, when there is a positive side of something, there is always a negative as well.
Cell phones are a huge part of our daily lives. And though they are fun to use and at most times, a lot more convenient.. They also have their cons. In my opinion, I believe the pros outweigh the cons. Even though, they are dangerous while driving, they can also be something that saves your life after an accident. They may steal you away from reality, but they also keep you connected with people. They might distract you from your homework, but they can also help you with your homework. And finally, they may distract you from learning, but you can always learn from them. All in all, I think that cell phones are a good thing, and they should be embraced.

Blogging

I really enjoyed the movie "Julie & Julia." It was actually really good. I didn't think I would like it because I'm not a huge fan of Meryl Streep, but it was actually pretty good. I thought it was incredible.. that this girl got so much attention over just blogging. Although, I was disappointed with the end.. because they never got to meet! How lame! :P

Blogging is cool though. I've had previous blogs in the past.. but never really kept up with them. I think it would be awesome to have a career where you just blog. Maybe I'll look into it. ;) Haha. Don't really know. We'll see. Taking this class.. really makes me WANT to continue writing blogs. I just never know what to write about. Maybe.. I should figure out something I enjoy doing. Like Julie. Oh gosh. :P

People get fired from their jobs for blogging though! How ridiculous is that? One, because.. ummm.. freedom of speech? Ever heard of it? Also, why would you even write about a co-worker or boss.. if you know they could easily access your blog. Come on people, be smart.

Starting right now.. I'm gonna keep up with my blogs. I feel like writing more! :D

I wonder if anyone other than my Writing of the 21st century teacher or students in the class.. actually read this..
Hmmm.. I guess I'll never know. :)

Social networking.

Social networking is not just a fad. I thought that video was extremely interesting. I don't know why people could think it is just a fad, when it's such a huge thing that has affected so many people's lives. The one fact that I thought was insane was that if Facebook was a country, it would be the fourth largest country in the world. That's crazy. I knew that Facebook was big.. but I had no idea that it was THAT big. I also thought it was CRAZY that the amount of people following Ashton Kutcher and Ellen on Twitter was more than the population of Ireland, Norway and other countries. That is incredible. I had no idea. A lot of the facts in the video were shocking. As I was reading it I was like whoa. I think that it's sad that all of the newspapers and news on TV are losing business and viewers.. but it's obvious why they are. People can get their news so much faster via the web. And sometimes you're not even looking for the news and you hear it. You could be on Twitter, and see a trending topic, and then click it and you figure out that there was a natural disaster or that a celebrity died, or that someone is in rehab again. You get current events news and celebrity gossip by just going onto Twitter or Facebook or any other social networking sight. It's just an incredible thing to think about. And soon, newspapers and TV will be gone. You can do it all online. I don't think social networking is a fad at all. I think that it's going to stay and replace a lot of different things in our lives and make them more efficient. And it's wonderful, in my opinion. :D That's just my thoughts on it. :)
